Raymond Francis Piglia Sr. passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday morning, January 9, 2018. He was 80 years old. Beloved husband of over 60 years to Jeanne McDonald Piglia. Loving father of Donald Piglia (Diane), Darlene Piglia Heltz (Mark), and the late Sheila Ann Piglia and Raymond Francis Piglia Jr. Grandfather of Randy Piglia, Eric Piglia, Luke Piglia, Liam Piglia, Taylor Heltz (Spencer Roussel), and Tanner Heltz. Brother of Gloria Montalbano, Margaret Skinner, Patricia Ventura, and the late William Piglia Sr., Edward Piglia Sr., Joseph Piglia Jr., Ronald Piglia, and Hilda Mary Cronin....

Raymond Francis Piglia Sr. passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday morning, January 9, 2018. He was 80 years old. Beloved husband of over 60 years to Jeanne McDonald Piglia. Loving father of Donald Piglia (Diane), Darlene Piglia Heltz (Mark), and the late Sheila Ann Piglia and Raymond Francis Piglia Jr. Grandfather of Randy Piglia, Eric Piglia, Luke Piglia, Liam Piglia, Taylor Heltz (Spencer Roussel), and Tanner Heltz. Brother of Gloria Montalbano, Margaret Skinner, Patricia Ventura, and the late William Piglia Sr., Edward Piglia Sr., Joseph Piglia Jr., Ronald Piglia, and Hilda Mary Cronin. Son of the late Hilda Schwartz Piglia and Joseph Piglia Sr. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Raymond was a native of New Orleans and had been a resident of Metairie for 40 years. He graduated from Redemptorist High School, and served his country in the United States Navy. Raymond retired from Lykes Brothers Steamship Company after over 25 years. He enjoyed tending to his yard and spending time at the New Orleans Fairgrounds. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Saturday afternoon, January 13, 2018 at 1:00.
