Maria Kay Berbuesse passed away on January 7, 2018, at the age of 63 surrounded by her loving family. Born January 17, 1954 in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was the devoted daughter of the late Edward Berbuesse and Margie Liberto Berbuesse. Beloved sister of Margaret B Alphonse (A.J.), Judith B. Sausse (Gene), Jane B. Brandstetter (Pat) and Edward G. Berbuesse, Jr. (Connie). Maria was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia B. Marino (Nick) and niece Laura A. Baroni. Survived by 15 nieces and nephews, Stacy Alphonse, Elizabeth S. Mullany, Lynn S. Truxillo, Eugene Sausse, Jr., Nick Marino, Jr., MaryAnn Marino, Marjorie M. Hirstius, Charles Brandstetter,IV, Leslie B. Fussell, Michael Brandstetter, Melinda B. Melancon, Melissa B. Seal, Melanie B. Kennedy, Meghan B. Hymel and Madeline Berbuesse.
Maria graduated from St. Mary's Dominican High School. She received degrees from Tulane University and the University of New Orleans where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta.
The family thanks nephew, Nick Marino, Jr. for his special devotion to Maria. The family is most grateful to the staff at St. Anthony Healthcare and Rehab for the love and care shown to Maria during her two year stay.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Friday morning, January 12, 2018 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home's chapel.
